A great lover of fashion and jewelry, Greek soprano Maria Callas had a penchant for collecting the creations of Van Cleef & Arpels. “La Divina”, as she was known, was a regular at the Place Vendôme boutique, and one of her favorite jewels was this Five leaves clip, made of platinum set with six Burmese oval rubies weighing 15.77 carats, as well as diamonds totaling 16.35 carats. She would often wear it to enhance her most elegant outfits and a photograph taken on December 7, 1973 after a performance at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées shows the Five leaves clip gracing the singer’s shoulder.
